Get Off Your Ass-ET!

We are all guilty of at one time or another feeling incompetent, unworthy, not enough or just down right insufficient. I used to tell people when I was still running track professionally that the hardest part of my job was competing on a level that a lot of the time I didn't feel that I was even qualified to be on.

How's this?

I may have missed some training due to injuries.
Just not feeling myself on that particular day.
Just not mentally able that day.
We all go through this. We want blessings from God but we don't set ourselves up to receive His blessings. We all know someone who makes excuse after excuse of why they can't do this or why they can't do that.

John 5:6 it reads,

When Jesus saw him lying there and learned that he had been in this condition for a long time, he asked him, ‘Do you want to get well?’

I think we should ask ourselves do we want to get well? Do we want to improve? Do we really want what our mouths keep saying we want?
Often at times we constantly talk about the problem repeatedly but never discuss nor try to find the solution.

Problems, to name a few:

  • School
  • Not the job you want
  • Unhappy in life
  • Not where you want to be

Yes we all know the problem! It's time to stop talking about the problem and making excuses. Referring back to the scripture above if you read the next verse you will see where it reads,

 John 5:7(NCV),

The sick man answered, “Sir, there is no one to help me get into the pool when the water starts moving. While I am coming to the water, someone else always gets in before me.”

Does this describe you?

Are we the sick?
  • I can't get that job because someone beats me to it
  • I can't pass that class because the teacher is too tough
  • I can't get that position because that guy is better than me
  • I can't lose weight because everyone in my family is obese
  • I just have bad luck

If it is pardon my English but, SHUT IT UP!

You are fully equipped with everything you need to succeed! You need nothing else! You are your biggest asset. So get off of your asset and get to moving! Don't take no for an answer! A quote that I love says,

"every no gets me closer to a yes."

Get up today and go get it!

Don't let a no slow you down. Let it drive you. Let it be your ammunition to keep going and to prove them wrong.

Don't be the sick man talking about the problem! Find a solution and get moving! You are your biggest asset! Christ and you, that's an unstoppable team! Failure is not an option!
