What is your rating?

I was recently watching a movie on Netflix and thought to myself “What made me choose this movie”? Of course it was the movie rating. This particular movie had 4 stars out of 5. Of course I am going to watch it. Who wouldn’t?

This made me think about the world that we live in today. Everything is based off of a rating or judgment system.

Our common rating systems:
  • How many facebook likes we get
  • How many followers we have on instagram or twitter
  • How many people like our business on yelp
  • How many people we have in our circle of friends
  • The rating of a particular restaurant
  • What’s your IQ Score
  • What’s your credit score

These rating systems are no doubt helpful. However, I am happy and thankful that my life does not revolve around what he or she says. I am grateful that it only matters what one person thinks of me. Quite frankly He thinks the world of me also.

It is tough going through life trying to please others and live up to other people’s standards. Sometimes we have to slow ourselves down and think, “What does He think of me?” How does He rate me? This is all that matters. Get in to your word and you will easily find out that no matter your shortcomings or mistakes, He thinks the world of you. He is not a fair weather fan and does not like you based on your last review. He loves you regardless.

Genesis 1:27 says, So God created human beings in his own image. In the image of God he created them; male and female he created themSo we are exactly how He wants us to be. After all, He made us.

Do not live your life depressed because people do not rate you high on their list or they do not follow you on your social media. Who cares. Know this and go on about your day.

“If God is for us, who can ever be against us?” (Romans 8:31)
This is the one and only rating system that matters! Go live your life!
